OK, so I’m not a huge baseball fan but I love my home team, the Jacksonville Suns. They’re the AA feeder team for the Florida Marlins and were the Southern League Champs last year. I really enjoying biking up to the games with friends and having some ice cold beers while watching baseball. Well, I always thought their old colors (Blue, Red and Yellow) were a bit horrible and there logo looked really outdated (in a bad way, not classic). So I decided to make a new one, with a mascot more fitting to the stadiums surrounding area, downtown. So, I introduce to you the Jacksonville Bums! Now I’m sure there will be a lot of people who take this logo parody the wrong way but I think it is a true representation of Downtown Jacksonville. If you’ve ever spent a small amount of time in Downtown Jacksonville you were sure to notice the abundance of homeless bums asking you for change. With baseball season starting I see it as opportunity to bring up the homeless issue in a playful way that will hopefully make people do some double takes when they see these parodies I created.
