This started out as an in-house project and I wanted to to represent 9-11 in a more conceptual way yet show lose. Without getting to preachy or sentimental I just wanted to honor the the victims of 9-11. Remember. Honor. Unite.

Burro X Eyes Wide Awake t-shirt collaboration

Burro Bags and I just wrapped a t-shirts series that I designed based on a mix of playing cards and what else, bikes. Well, the people who ride them. Burro has been in the messenger bag/bike game for years now and I’ve always enjoyed working with them. They are seriously great guys to work with and they bring a lot of positive energy and passion to whatever project they are working on, so whenever I get a chance to work with them it’s a blast. This series came about from just playing around with the idea of incorporating certain type of cyclists and face card. We have the One Eyed Jack bike polo player, with his mallet, ball, chain lock and a nice moustache to top it off. The Queen represents all the females who can ride with the boys and wrench their own bikes, she sports a chain whip and lock ring tool. The Suicide King is well, the king. He’s the guy who dominates the ally cat and drinks beer after the race and probably some right before it. Last but not least is the Ace of Spades, this one actually is the stand out of the pack, white on a black long sleeve. All of the elements of a fixed gear are reversed out of the spade, and each part of the bike is sized to scale.
These shirts are a limited edition series so get them while you can, to purchase one go here.

It’s been too long since I designed a band poster and I forgot how much I like designing them. Well here is one for Rebels & Rogues a local band from here in Jacksonville that needed a tour poster. Rebels & Rogues play rock & roll and have a bit of an alt country sound, but they wanted something that wasn’t country looking so I steered cleat of the typical western themes and decided to keep it fairly simple with an old school look and feel. Good luck on the tour boys!

The creative guys 5ivecanons about helping them create some type treatments for one of their clients. After an initial meeting and looking at the creative brief, I knew this would be an awesome project right up my ally. There were certain words throughout the animation that needed to be big and bold to emphasize certain words within the script and keep a consistent look and feel. After a few rounds of design and some great dialog with the guys at 5ivecannons the following animation was created.
This project has been going so well more pieces have been requested and it looks like this is turning into a large campaign. I’ll post more once it’s all finished. Until then, If you live in Jacksonville, “like” Community First’s facebook page and you can submit an idea to help improve Jacksonville.
Mmmmmmmmmm, Beer. I am a pretty big beer fan, or beer snob depending on how you look at it and when I was contacted by Green Room Brewing about creating their logo I jumped at the chance. After talking with one of the owners over a few rounds about what they wanted in a logo and the idea behind the name Green Room I had a good starting point for the logo. The term “Green Room” is a surf term for the sweet spot in a large barrel and I wanted the logo to convey that. I decided to have everything enclosed in a circle to re-emphasize being in a wave while also giving a slight nod to classic surf designs. They also just had a write up in the Florida Times Union and you can read the story here
Recently the AIGA held their annual Always Summer Poster Show where designers created a poster based on a summer time song. Mine just happened to be “40 Day Dream” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. I actually designed this a while ago while doing some work with Vagrant records for the band, but they decided not to use the design so instead of letting the design go to waste I tweaked the design and used it for the poster and I think it turned out pretty rad.
