Beard

There are two kinds of people in this world that go around beardless — boys and women — and I am neither one.

Green Room Brewing

Mmmmmmmmmm, Beer. I am a pretty big beer fan, or beer snob depending on how you look at it and when I was contacted by Green Room Brewing about creating their logo I jumped at the chance. After talking with one of the owners over a few rounds about what they wanted in a logo and the idea behind the name Green Room I had a good starting point for the logo. The term “Green Room” is a surf term for the sweet spot in a large barrel and I wanted the logo to convey that. I decided to have everything enclosed in a circle to re-emphasize being in a wave while also giving a slight nod to classic surf designs. They also just had a write up in the Florida Times Union and you can read the story here

More info to come.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Recently the AIGA held their annual Always Summer Poster Show where designers created a poster based on a summer time song. Mine just happened to be “40 Day Dream” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. I actually designed this a while ago while doing some work with Vagrant records for the band, but they decided not to use the design so instead of letting the design go to waste I tweaked the design and used it for the poster and I think it turned out pretty rad.

Mod

Here is a new illustration I recently created of a mod on a Vespa. I’ve been sketching a lot more lately and I’ve been wanting to try some new techniques in coloring so I thought the line work from this illustration would be a great place to start. Let me know what you guys think.

Ol’Cracker vs Shamus

Momma said knock you out! Well Ol’Cracker is my Ol’der brother and he asked me to draw up a pic of him giving WWE star Shamus the smackdown. I used to be a pretty big wrestling fan when I was younger and growing up in the 80′s I feel I experienced wrestling’s Golden Age. We had Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, The Ultimate Warrior, The Legion of Doom and so on. Well’ I decided to channel all those memories and show Ol’Cracker giving the ginger a devastating uppercut to his chin strap.

Ask Bill

Bill is a CPA who needed his business identity revamped, he also has an awesome moustache and a good sense of humor. Bill deals with blue collar types who are planning on retirement and wanted a look that would let his personality show through and leave an impact on his clients and attract new ones with a strong visual presence. With all of that in mind, and his moustache of course, Ask Bill was created.

I’ve been busy

I know I’ve been slow with the updates lately but with good reason. I’ve been extremely busy working on various projects. It feels great to have some exciting projects to work on, and they’ve been keeping me busier then ever. I hope to have some of these wrapped up soon and complete write ups on the projects once completed so stay tuned.

Josh Hoye x Chad Landenberger

Josh Hoye and I exchanged illustrations a few months ago at the 3rd Annual Drawing for Life Marathon, an all day drawing events that helps raise money for the American Cancer Society. When he informed me that he colored a line art illustration I did, I was totally flattered. He has such an awesome style and does it so effortlessly, he is what I would call an illustrators illustrator. Thanks Josh!

5 Points Honey

I’ve finally got some product shots of the 5 Points Honey jars and I couldn’t be happier with the final results. When designing the labels the client wanted a vintage look and I took all of their requirements and combined them into a retro looking label while giving it a contemporary feel. Thanks to Dennis Eusebio for the great photography.
